Description
Oracle's JDK 7 has a vendor string of "Oracle Corporation", which causes the method com.thoughtworks.xstream.core.JVM#bestReflectionProvider to return a PureJavaReflectionProvider instead of a Sun14ReflectionProvider, leading to changed behaviour.

THis issue is not fixed in 1.3.1, and the current trunk does not work too well here.
I worked around the problem by constructing the XStream as follows:
new XStream(new Sun14ReflectionProvider( ), new DomDriver( ))
